“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I
flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven,
thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou
art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell
in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall
thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If
I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me, even the
night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness
hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day:
the darkness and the light are both alike to thee”
(Psa 139:7-12).
+Sherrie Lowery where was God when Satan, in the form of a snake, convinced Eve it was okay to eat from the tree of knowledge? Ah, you don't have to answer that. It's a rhetorical question.
Answering with a question. How ingenious. According to the fable, Adam was beside Eve. He didn't say anything because he knew nothing about decision making. Actually, Eve and him knew nothing at all because they were made ignorant by an incompetent deity. They were ill equipped to question the snake. It's an epic failure on gods part.
But you never even answered my question. You did a good job of avoiding it though. I guess we can make our own assumptions about what god was doing. This god certainly cannot be omniscient or omnipotent.

+Nellie Wilson Asking a question like “Where was (or is) God” shows that you have not grasped the theological or philosophical concept of omnipresence (or eternality).
Since God is everywhere all the time, there never has been, nor ever could be, a place (or time) where he is not.
Since God is everywhere all the time, there never has been, nor ever could be, a place (or time) where he is not.
And free will is what has made evil possible. Why, then, did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having. A world of automata
of creatures that worked like machines would hardly be worth creating. The happiness which God designs for His higher creatures is the happiness of being freely, voluntarily united to Him and to each other in an ecstasy of love and delight compared with which the most rapturous love between a man and a woman on this earth is mere milk and water. And for that they've got to be free. C.S. Lewis

An ontological argument is a philosophical argument for the existence of God that uses ontology. Many arguments fall under the category of the ontological, and they tend to involve arguments about the state of being or existing. More specifically, ontological arguments tend to start with an a priori theory about the organization of the universe. If that organizational structure is true, the argument will provide reasons why God must exist.
Anselm Proof
1.It is a conceptual truth (or, so to speak, true by definition) that God is a being than which none greater can be imagined (that is, the greatest possible being that can be imagined).
2.God exists as an idea in the mind.
3.A being that exists as an idea in the mind and in reality is, other things being equal, greater than a being that exists only as an idea in the mind.
4.Thus, if God exists only as an idea in the mind, then we can imagine something that is greater than God (that is, a greatest possible being that does exist).
5.But we cannot imagine something that is greater than God (for it is a contradiction to suppose that we can imagine a being greater than the greatest possible being that can be imagined.)
6.Therefore, God exists.
From this point on, "GOD" is a useless word.

Totally agree! Everything kwons there are two creation stories, any bible commentary will show you that (it doesn't Chang the fact that God created the earth) AS far as what Jesus said on the cross, they have to understand that Jesus said on the they and true man and sometimes that Jesus was true God at time spoke as Man, as you say, this is something that has been studied and answered a long time ago. Nothing faith shartein f here !! The supposed contradiction in the bible are necessary for the atheists, they need them to feel secure, it doesn't affect believers, in addition, these atheists are not honest

CHRISTIANS! CHRISTIANS! CHRISTIANS! Every day that you believe "Jesus died for your sins so you shall not perish but have everlasting life" is every day Jesus re-"living" his trial before Pontiate Pilate; you cheering for the other Jew to be spared the same crucifixion Jesus suffered in his place instead....EVERY DAY!
"For two thousands years Jesus has been revenging himself on us for not having died on a sofa!" ~Emil Cioran
If you don't sin, then Jesus died in vain.
Again!
What does (do) God's (gods) silence in the penultimacy (penultimate) mean and do for you would do the same for the me (us) if choosing to allow letting a God (gods) doing so.
If Jane Goodall were to observe our behavior as a colony, she would have no f**king clue which ones of us were Christians and which ones were not, except, for you monkeys constantly getting in her face and screaming, "I'M A CHRISTIAN!" "I'M A CHRISTIAN!" "I'M A CHRISTIAN!"

+Jim Ed Avery I read all 6 paragraphs of your diatribe and none of them make sense, not separately nor together. The little bit discernable in there is where you muddy yourself again with profanity. Jane Goodall is an ATHEIST so OF COURSE she wouldn't be able to tell the difference between herself and a disciple of Jesus Christ. She wouldn't want to lest she see that she lacks something in herself.
Or are you indirectly calling a disciple of Jesus Christ no better than a gorilla? Such insults are ridiculously common to folks who don't want to take Jesus Christ seriously.

+Daniel Davis Oh I take Jesus seriously. Just think his death has been turned into nothing more than but a botched crucifixion. If the message of his sermons cannot stand on their own without believing in the divinity of Jesus, then I fail to understand the example that he lived.
I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?
~(John 3:12)~
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
~(John 12:32)~
Let's be honest with ourselves, Jesus is more useful to you dead than alive.
And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
~(Hosea)~
Again; I do take Jesus seriously.
And the choices are two:
Either I assume his intentions were selfless; or I assume they weren't.
"Quality of a good leader is one able disappointing his own people at a rate they can absorb." ~(unknown)~
He had to work with what he had to work with.
And you are a good example of his problems.

+Jim Ed Avery No, you don't. "If the message of his sermons cannot stand on their own without believing in the divinity of Jesus, then I fail to understand the example that he lived."
The message of Jesus' sermons were that He is the MESSIAH, which is GOD in flesh. From John 1:1 to John 8:58 to Matthew quoting Isaiah at his birth ("Emmanuel"), if Jesus is not God, then His "message" is crazy stuff from a crazy guy who thought he was god but isn't (on the same level of listening to Baghwan Shree Rajneesh say, "Be still, and know that I am god. Be still and know that you are god."

And what are we supposed to do with that?!
If the message of his sermons are not crazy if he is God; then why should they be senseless if he's not God.
Bottom line...
As part of our understanding of having "faith" is based on "doubt", the sad fact remains that we are all truly agnostics. And I'm only as militant an Atheist as one professes to be a person of faith, if, and only when, what I'm hearing sounds self serving, judgmental, exclusionary.
"YOU DO NOT CONCLUDE UNTIL UNDERSTANDING. ONCE UNDERSTANDING; YOU DO NOT JUDGE"
There is no point in us two carrying on this debate.
The sad fact remains...
We will never be able proving to you there is no God while we are living; and you will never be able proving to us there is a God until you kill us. And I do not like the idea of having to wait until you catching up before paying you back.
Label yourself a Christian all you want. It tells you absolutely nothing about anyone except yourself when unable letting others doing it for you instead.
Wouldn't it be great if we were all to be sent straight to jail the day we graduate from high school. Then released on parole for life, only, after earning a theology certificate at tax payers expense, similar, to the one earned by convicted murderer Kelly Gissendaner as she sat waiting on Georgia death row up until recently executed.
A driver license will not stop someone from being a reckless driver; but it sure would be nice one having to pass a test before becoming a reckless Christian.

+Bob Pilarski That, or your beliefs are. To be honest, to be really "scientific," you must always consider the alternative: that you yourself are wrong.
+Jim Ed Avery "If the message of his sermons are not crazy if he is God; then why should they be senseless if he's not God."
This either makes no sense or tells everyone you didn't understand what I said. Thus, the rest of your slippery-slope arguments also make no sense. You can prove there's a God merely by the fact that you exist.
Again: Jesus of Nazareth repeatedly claimed to be both the Messiah of the Jews, fulfilling those prophecies, and God Himself. He also proved both. "Faith" is a matter of either believing the evidence before you or inventing fictions and fairy tales that are more comfortable. You try to back away from the evidence because it's uncomfortable . . . it really does demand YOU CHANGE and you don' wanna.

+Daniel Davis You claim the issue of God's existence had been proven and settled a long time ago. Really? This is news to me! My understanding is that, 2000 years later, Christianity has plateaued at 33 percent of world population and beginning to backslide.
God is nothing more than an obligate carnivore... your consciousness waiting on a corpse.
When finally catching up; I shall be nothing but overcome with joy and happiness for you having reached your lifelong dream of meeting your maker face to face ; life everlasting.
There is no such thing as having the last word with our people of faith.
LOL

That merely reveals how little attention you pay to science over your personal religion.
Numbers? Who ever says numbers mean truth? Folks argued with Albert Einstein for decades after he published his 2 seminal works. That folks still argue with Jesus Christ only proves He was right when He said, "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." You were designed to glorify God. That you don't even like God proves both that you need a Savior and that you've no place complaining about hell when you won't even work according to your own design specs.

+Daniel Davis As you will find no two people on this planet agreeing exactly the same as to what it means believing in a God; far as I'm concerned, then, is that we have just as many gods as we have people currently claiming one, have ever claimed one, and forever will be claiming one right up until we no longer an observer left standing...ABLE....claiming one. Then God and time will cease to exist without an observer until...ENABLED...another.
"DID LIFE NOT BEGIN THE DAY WE ALL BE "CAIN" WITNESS TO DEATH HOWEVER BRIEFLY "ABEL" A WITNESS TO LIFE?
And this is what I like about being the radical atheist that I am, being that of someone who has...NOW...chosen believing in "zero" god as opposed to "no" god.
What does this mean?
Short of divine intervention by the big guy himself, simply mean I refuse choosing any one god to recognize and/or worship, thereby, leaving the only GOD available being my witness, the genuine one, if indeed there truly is one. The same claim, YOU (although I'm sure you will continue to disagree with anything and everything coming from an atheist), as a Christian, not able quite making the same. The same claim, a Muslim, not able quite making the same. The same claim, a Jew, not able quite making the same.
"TO DIFFERENT DEGREES, EVERYTHING IS PATHOLOGY EXCEPT FOR INDIFFERENCE."
~(Emil Cioran)~
Well I disagree with this statement as I believe "indifference" here is "pathology" somewhere else. Therefore "GOD" ...AT BEST... be the eternal (indifferent)...AND NOT... two or three.
"I WANT TO KNOW GOD'S THOUGHTS. THE REST JUST DETAILS."
~(Albert Einstein)~
If you are going to continue insisting on believing in a god your way, fine then, we have a god... YOURS! Why complicate things dragging one of my own into this mess.
God's thoughts are now your thoughts by anything else "should be" fearing no one else.

Thus you nullify every sentence you typed. God has intervened in this world multiple times and many people believe He has because they've seen some of those interventions. That you don't believe makes you no sociopath but merely a non-scientist: you ignore the relevant data in favor of your personal religion.
Your personal religioin remains disproven by God's multiple interventions in this world, nonetheless.
